Street Sweeping

Chicago utilizes mechanical street sweepers to remove debris from streets between April and November each year. Click below for the ward map and schedule of street sweeping for 2024. Find your street sweep section on the schedule to determine the dates for when street sweeping happens on your block.

Some streets, such as Broadway, Lawrence, and Clarendon, receive weekly street cleaning from 7-9 AM. These streets have cleaning signs posted on the block to warn drivers so they can avoid being ticketed.

Residents can view street sweepers in real time using the Sweeper Tracker online tool.
